Nomadic Ladakh - Photography Expedition to Ladakh


After a super successful Season 1 we are back with Season 2 of Nomadic Ladakh

STRUCTURE:


Pre Tour Analysis:

Each registered participant will be requested to submit their landscsape / portrait Related images. Our panel will analyse each image to see how to guide each individual during the tour and help them enhance their skills. We will also provide individual feedback to their each submitted image and suggest improvement areas.

During the Tour:

Based on the analytical data available with us post "Pre tour Analysis" we will provide individualized attention to all and ensure they work on their weeknesses and enhance their skills. Evening Gup Shup Sessions will be learning oriented and practical tips will be provided.


We shall also have atleast one evening session dedicated to post processing workflow to help them become a complete photographer.


After the Tour:

Each participant will be required to submit 3 of their best images from the tour. Each image will be analysed and constructive feedback will be provided. Best of the lot will make to our website and blog; and will be aggressively promoted on FB.

Detailed Itinerary


DAY 01 (06 JUL) ARRIVE LEH Arrival Leh Kushok Bakula Airport (This must be one of the MOST SENSATIONAL FLIGHTS IN THE WORLD. On a clear day from one side of the aircraft can be seen in the distance the peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum and on the other side of the aircraft, so close that you feel you could reach out and touch it, is the Nun Kun massif.) Upon arrival you will met by our representative and transfer to Hotel for Check in. Complete day for rest and leisure to acclimatize. Evening visit Shanti Stupa Overnight at Leh

Day 02 (07 JUL) Excursion to Sham Valley - After breakfast you drive downstream along the River Indus on Leh – Kargil Highway. And start our sightseeing with Hall of Fame (Museum Constructed by India Army) near Leh is worth a visit for every Indian, and proceed further to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib Nestled deep in the Himalayas, A drive of another 4 km took us to Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity & further Driving through a picturesque landscape we reached the Confluence Of The Indus And Zanskar River. After visiting above places we drive back to Leh enroute visiting Spituk Monastery, Built in 15th century during the reign of Grags ‘bum-lde, these new Gelug-pa monastery was built like fortress on the summit of crags. Evening at Leisure and Overnight at Hotel in Leh

DAY 03 (08Jul) LEH –KHARDUNG
LA –HUNDER –TURTUK (Distance: 37km / 90km / 90km –217km; Travel Time: 67hrs;Elevation: KhardungLa –5,602m/18,380ft)Driving from Leh, we cross the KhardungLa, known as one of the world’s highest motor able road, into the Nubra Valley. We spend some time at the sand dunes in Hunder and drive on further to the remote village of Turtuk.

DAY 04 (09 Jul) TURTUK –DISKIT –LEH(Distance: 98km / 119km –217km, Travel Time: 5
6hrs;Elevation: Leh–3,505m/11,500ft)Heading back over the KhardungLa we drive back to Leh with a stop at the Diskit Gompa dating back to the 14th century.

Day 05 (10 Jul) LEH - Aryan Valley- Early morning we will proceed for Aryan Valley. There are many small villages but only two villages of Dha and Hanu are open for tourists. Enjoy the afternoon with the Aryans, descendants from the armies of Alexander. Overnight at Aryan Valley.

Day 6 (11 Jul) Aryan Valley- LEH Post Breakfast we head back to Leh. Rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 7 (12 Jul) Leh- Pangong Tso: After an early breakfast we leave for Pangong Lake enroute visiting Shey Palace, The ancient capital of Ladakh & 3 Idiots Rancho School & further 5 Kms Driving through a picturesque landscape we reach Thiksey an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. After visiting above two monasteries we drive further towards Changla Pass 5486 Mtrs. The long easy ascent takes you to Changla Pass through its winding roads passing through Sakti Village. Stop at the Changla Pass for a quick photograph session and drive down to the village of Tangtse, where you can relax for a cup of tea. Leaving Tangtse for Pangong you pass through few small villages of Changthang and finally you can have a sudden view of the Pangong lake situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). This famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is 5/6 Kms wide and over 133 Kms long with half of its running the other side of the "Indo China Border". One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. After the success of 3 Idiots, this beautiful natural location has attracted more tourists from all over the world. Upon arrival we check in at our Camp near Pangong lake. Dinner & Overnight at the Camp.

Day 8 (13 Jul) Leh Morning at leisure to explore the beauty of lake and later we drive back to leh enroute visiting Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Drive further to Leh and check in at our hotel for Overnight In the evening you can stroll around the market place for some last minute souvenir shopping.

Day 9 (14 Jul) Fly out Transfer to the airport to board your flight back

Day 9 (14 Jul) LEH - CHUMATHANG - TSOMORIRI (240 KMS / 06 – 07 HRS) In the morning leave for TSOMORIRI LAKE enroute visiting SHEY PALACE, The ancient capital of Ladakh & THIKSEY an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. After visiting above two monasteries we drive further towards CHUMATHANG, which is famous for medical hot spring and people visit to this place for medical bath. From here a short drive will take you to Mahey bridge, the main checking point to enter to this new area. On the way visit Sumdah village and another 55 kms drive will take you to Tsomoriri. The TSOMORIRI LAKE is a beautiful mountain bounded expanse of water, around 240 Kms. from Leh in Rupsho Valley. The Lake is located at 14,000 ft. near a small village of Korzok. Recently opened to foreigners due to the proximity of the Chinese boarder, the Changthang is a land of wilderness and magnificent landscapes. This region is characterized by high arid plains, remote villages, snow-capped peaks and beautiful high altitude azure-blue lakes, the largest being Tsomoriri at 4,500 m. The Tsomoriri Lake is also the breeding ground for numerous species of birds, like the bar headed goose, crested grebe, the Brahmini duck (ruddy sheldrake) and the brown-headed gull. The Tsomorir Lake is 8 kms wide and 28 kms long. Upon arrival we check in at our camp for Overnight Stay.


Day10 (15 Jul) The day will start with a drive to Mahey village, a picturesque village with spurting fountain and white clouds hanging upon. From there, you will proceed towardsPuga Valley, famous for Butan gas. Thereafter, you will continue towards Tsokar via Polokongka pass (at 13500 ft.). Check into the camp.

Day 11 (16 Jul) Sissu Today we leave for Sissu. Check into Camps

Day 12 (17 Jul) Alas your trip comes to an end. Today after breakfast we depart for Manali, from where you proceed onto your onward destination.

  • Additional costs due to flight cancellation, road blocks etc
  • Government Service tax @ 3.09% 
  • Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary/stay on account of flight cancellation due to bad weather, ill health, roadblocks and/or any factors beyond control.
